As we all know the basic needs of human beings food, clothing and shelter. Among them priority goes to food only. Food can be mainly classified into solid and liquid .for maintaining good health and physical efficiency; the diet should provide adequate amounts of all nutrients.
Nowadays most teenagers or college students are in a habit of eating junk or fast foods. Junk foods are foods containing a lot of fat and sugar and hardly any roughage. Our fast life and irregular working hours encouraged us to consume fast foods. It is also a hallmark of modernity among teenagers to eat fast foods.

BAKERY PRODUCTS:
These include pastries, cakes, chocolates and patties. These foods are calorie rich and have high amount of fat. Refined wheat flour (maida), Butter, Sugar, and Eggs are basic constituents of cakes and pastries. A small serving of these foods result in ingestion of a huge amount of calories. Later causes many problems like obesity, juvenile diabetes in children and teenagers.
Obesity is due to the intake of more calorie rich food than consumed. Excess fat is deposited as adipose tissues in the body. The consumption of refined food products results in Juvenile Diabetes, Cardiac Failure and many deficiency diseases at an early age. Cocoa is the chief constituent of chocolates, which is 80 percent fat.
COLD DRINKS:
The basic constituents of cold drinks are carbon acids, sugar and preservatives. The carbon acids tend to corrode calcium and phosphorus from bones and are excreted in urine. So there is a chance of osteoporosis. Cold drinks also contain alkaloids like cocaine, morphine, quinine and caffeine. Percentage may very in different brands.
The most serious thing is that cocaine and caffeine in cold drinks produces addiction to them.
OTHER JUNK FOOD PRODUCTS:
These include potato chips, Noodles, Burgers, Pizzas etc. All these are basically carbohydrate rich foods. Spices are among their main ingredients. Spices are aromatic and pungent. Intake of spicy foods may irritate the mucous membrane and causes diseases like gastritis, peptic ulcer and diarrhoea. And later urinary tract infections because irritation of intestinal mucous membranes by spices produces hyperaemia and favours absorption of bacteria which then reach the kidneys.
